Game show fans felt a triple knockout as not only did NBC cancel Super Password, but also Sale of The Century & CBS yanked Card Sharks.

Bob Eubanks made another tearful farewell to the show while on $ale, it was like a Jackson Five tune, "Never Can Say Good-Bye".

CBS relplaced Card Sharks with Now You See It (Chuck Henry) & NBC moved Scrabble to 9:00 am so that the 11:00 hour could be for local news & the soap, Generations (Generations had the same fate as Sale's finale, due to the Persian Gulf war).

$otC and SUper Password did end on 3/24/89, but Card SHarks's last show was 3/31/89. 3/31/89 was also the last day TNN aired Fandango(which was in reruns for seven months beforehand)

When the sun comes up, I'll be going out now that it finally feels like spring out here.
At least Card Sharks (never cared for the Eubanks version anyway) was
replaced by another game show--Now You See It, which originally ran for
fourteen months, was off the air for fourteen years and returned for fourteen weeks.

Ah, it was a 15 week run for NYSI89, but you're close(though July 14, 1989 was the airdate of the last show). Jack Narz was off by a month on the NYSI7x finale when he said his version ran for 13 months, which in fact it was 14(but the show did end on Friday the 13th in June 1975)

Zach was right...CBS' Card Sharks did have one more week to go.

Other simultaneous daytime network GS axings include CBS' death knell for The Joker's Wild and the original Now You See It (Jack Narz) on June 13, 1975 and 2 big dates which saw NBC pinkslipping a huge chunk of games: September 26, 1969 (Eye Guess, The Match Game, Personality, and You Don’t Say!) and June 20, 1980 (Chain Reaction, The Hollywood Squares, The New High Rollers).

August 14, 1998(though all these shows had at least six months of reruns at the time the stations dropped them altogether): Lifetime's Supermarket Sweep and Debt, and FAM's New SHop Till You Drop and Shopping Spree ended their runs.

Zach, you're slipping...I would have thought you'd remember June 27, 1975, which saw ABC say goodbye to Password and Split Second.

So that's the other show ABC axed with Password in June 1975! Thanks, rigsby!

"Blankety Blanks" also went off on the same day as "Password" and Split Second." One week later, July 4, 1975 was the most traumatic for me as Jim and Heather called it quits on "The Big Showdown," but "Blank Check" and "Money Maze" also went off that day.

You forgot who you're dealing with here. :-)

BTW, as anal as that was, I'd say Zach was using 80s Pyramid standards.

Yeah.  Just as Louie Anderson "chose" not to come back to Family Feud.
