Seems to me that it happened a lot earlier than that--I recall seeing summer reruns sometime in the 70s.

The late Randy Amasia (RIP) once told me that NBC reran the 1st wk of Jackpot during the summer of '74, so it mustn't have been too uncommon during that decade.

It was part of the experimental week of hour-long shows taped in late August 1975. The One Bid readouts were redone, the \"Little Wheel\" and Showcase Showdown were introduced, the showcase podiums were painted white, etc.
