Combs Feud question

By that, I mean a couple of things. First off, why are the lights on the gameboard always on during Fast Money. Don't see what purpose it serves. The other thing, is why is the flashing light pattern so often inconsistent? By that, I mean, sometimes it will flash longer after Ray is introed, then other times. Why is this?

The lights on during Fast Money kind of set a mood with the slightly dimmed lighting center stage.

The light pattern? Somebody just didn't stop it at the same time everytime. No need to pop veins, sir. :)

I always thought it would stop at a certain point everytime though.
