I've thought about it several times.

The Clark version of the Pyramid is my all-time favorite game show. Save maybe for Concentration.

The Osmond version was crap. The lone bright spot was the discovery of Donny Osmond as a credible game show host. The game itself was a complete butchery of a classic, and pretty much for no other reason other than someone decided they could.

I'm not saying it SHOULDN'T be brought back. Any half hour of game shows is better than Yet Another Access Hollywood (with Pat O'Brien!) But the fanbois around here refuse to see some VERY fundamental problems with their format that keep it from being the great show it could have been.[/quote]
I agree with Chris. Donny has potential to be a good host, but game didn't do much for me. Now if only Donny would host a Concentration revival, *then* we'd be in bidness...

I'm one of those who enjoys both versions. I get annoyed with the current one's judging inconsistencies, but that's not enough to keep me from watching. As for hosting styles, both have their strengths & weaknesses but I prefer Donny's enthusiasm (even when it sometimes goes overboard) to Dick's seeming indifference and "let's hurry and wrap this up so I can leave the set before the credits" style. (And yes, I understand he was busy and had few breaks.)

Now if only someone would get the rights to air the Cullen version. I've yet to see an episode.

I guess I didn't see enough of the hissy fit episodes of "Pyramid" to come to this conclusion...

Ok then, what other game could Donny host and not make a mess of things?

IIRC the poster who said Pyramid was going to PAX in reruns posted on April F. Day. We have no official word on whether PAX(or for that matter GSN) will acquire Osmond Pyramid, or whether ABC Family will continue airing reruns this Fall.
