Fox IS one of the Big Three today, what with ABC's free-fall under Eisner's (mis)management (aside from WWTBAM's peak).  It would seem to me that most producers of any TV format would rather shop to Fox than to ABC; I believe that Mark Burnett (Survivor EP) once said that he would never shop to ABC.

Not that Burnett's that happy with Fox right now, thanks to Darnell approving Endemol's carbon of his "Contender" boxing show, but his "Casino" (which is a fly-on-the-wall documentary like "The Restaurant") will still be airing on Fox this summer.

To answer your question, then yes. Millionaire did last longer than a year. I think lumping Millionaire in with the others is a mistake. Millionaire did not die because it had a bad format. It died because of bad programming decisions. I think if it was handled by any other network it may have still been on the air last season.

So far they are doing Super Millionaire right. I hope that continues.

Point taken - with the exception of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire".  They were on prime time for close to 3 years, and did 363 episodes - more than any other ABC prime time show ever.  Plus, considering the ratings for the first two years, I'd say it was a major success.

The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet had many more episodes (435) from 1952-66 during it's ABC run..

I think "Peyton Place" also had more episodes. Two and sometimes three a week from 64-69 for 52 weeks per year with no repeats.

I never even thought of Peyton Place.  According to the Museum of Broadcast Communications  Online Encyclopedia, 514 Episodes of Peyton Place were produced.

I know that the 300th episode was a short time ago.  I think they're up to about 315.

Whoops!  That was me - and I'll take the blame.  I remember reading in the Entertainment section a couple of years ago that it was either No. 1 or No. 2 all-time for ABC - but several posts in this thread have pointed out a few other shows that went past it in terms of number of episodes.

 I thought that GDL was indeed a FOX Network show along with Live w/ Ryan Secrest?  Then what percentage of the local FOX affiliates carry it?  

I don't believe that GDL is pulling in any eye opening numbers, so might FOX might be testing WtB for a possible replacement for at least half of the afternoon gabfest?

 Neither show is a FOX network show. While most takers of the shows are FOX affiliates, they don't all run the shows at the same time and there is at least one UPN affil in my state that runs GDL.
