By that I mean, I know that at the end of Johnny's final show, there was a taped speech by Bob regarding Johnny's passing, but I was just wondering, during the announcer search, did Bob ever mention the reason for it was due to Johnny's passing? The reason I bring this up, is because to my knowledge, except for the tribute to Rod before an October show, his death has never been mentioned, and I was just wondering if maybe there was a precedent for this. I mean no disrespect to Johnny or anything BTW.

I don't have empirical evidence that it never happened, but it just wouldn't be a good idea to bring down a studio audience by mentioning a recent passing.  Where do you go from there?

I thought that it was an awkward (though necessary) moment when they did the tribute to Johnny on the 25th Anniversary Special - and that was 12 years after the fact.

An intelligent person could figure this out by themselves.

A friend and I were discussing this at tennis the other day, but being on opposite ends of the court, it was hard to carry on a conversation.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Look, I'm not stupid. I wouldn't think they would do such a thing, but you have to realize two things:

1. His death occured almost two years before I was born
2. I have never seen any of the announcer tryout shows following his unfortunate passing.

So, while it is logical to think they wouldn't mention it on the air, for all I know, they could have. I wouldn't know if they did or not. Which is why I asked this question to begin with.

 Clearly debatable.

Interesting fact about TPIR.  The host of the original show is dead, but the first two regular announcers on the show are alive and the host of the second series is alive but the first two regular announcers are dead.

Neither have I.
Point being; that sometimes it is best to just use some common sense.  Now; let's start a pool on how long it is before he asks another Family Feud question.
I'll say 17 hours.  Over/under, guys?

I've never seen a studio mention on air, though I'm sure it was mentioned for a week or so after the first taping occurred.  Then again, they did show the crawl for a few months.  I believe Rod's first show was right after the New Year (Jan 1986).

Seems the first round of announcer tryouts was pretty good.  I thought Rich Jeffries was the worst of the bunch, but I have him rated higher than Daniel Rosen.

I believe there was a point during a subsequent anniversary show, probably the 1986 show, where Barker did pay tribute to Johnny and mentioned the fine work Rod Roddy was doing in his place. But never was it mentioned.

Although I do remember someone at one of the first -- maybe the first -- Gene Wood shows wearing a T-shirt saying "WE MISS YOU JOHNNY".

Not only would you not want to bring a studio audience down but you wouldn't want to date a show for rerun/GSN purposes.
