From the magnificent Hollywood and Highland Center in Tinsel Town, almost live, an instant recap of the game show related Daytime Emmy "Tech Awards".

Although TPIR folks were up for a number of awards running the gamut from Best Hairdressing to Best Audio Mixing, the sole category won by TPIR crew members was for camera work. Marty Walker (who has worked the show for about 30 years) spoke for all the camera operators, Technical Director David Hallmark and the Mayor of Video Village Allan Latter who each came on stage to grab the golden lady. Marty had some cute quips about spaying and neutering, and thanked Bold and Beautiful and Y&R for their good naturedness through the years as the cry of "Come On Down" and the audience screaming over the decades have no doubt been a minor annoyance from time to time.

WWTBAM won Best Direction
Win Ben Stein's Money won for Writing

Barker's Beauties Brandy and Rachel escorted the winners and handed out the statues. Alex Trebek presented several awards, and had some funny lines about how Bob has worked with all these beautiful models over the years, and for his dozen or so years on J! all he's had to look at is Johnny Gilbert.

Thanks to Kathy Greco who is on the Daytime Emmy Board all presenters and other big shots (like the announcer  ;-)  got TPIR T-shirts and free golf lessons from Frank "Thumbs" Greco included in the big goodie baskets of freebees.

Post some encouragement and Sunday night I'll list the rest of the awards, along with anything else of interest I can remember, for any inquiring minds that want to know.

Marty (Martin) Wagner?
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Yes, Marty Wagner.

On the other hand, Marty Walker was the Chief Engineer at KCAQ (Q-105) and KTRO, Oxnard in the late 1980s who nearly electrocuted himself one Sunday night while doing transmitter maintenance. With his fingers deep in the "finals" the metal hinged door on the rear of the transmitter closed on its own just far enough to touch his back and provide a "ground". After 5 hours in ICU his irregular heartbeat corrected itself and he was sent home the next day.

Blame the confusion between Martys on the Belvedere vodka. A very clean taste, not at all harsh. This is a well filtered vodka without the sting and burn of non-premium brands, and without the floral aftertaste of Stolichnaya and some of the other premiums. If you enjoy Grey Goose, Belvedere will have a familiar texture while delivering a less sweet and more potent flavor.  ;-?

See, I knew there was a danger about drinking.  Glad I've never touched the stuff.
