Was there another call in, or did I just miss everything?

That's right Adam, and let me do you one better...

Tonight at 9/8 central is the only time it will air at that time. For the rest of the nights (which are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, a week from tonight, a week from this Tuesday, and a week from this Wednesday) it airs at 10/9 central.

Nice to see the show back again.  Did anyone noticed after the player wins $100K, there were red chaser-type lights going up on the set?  I thought it was intresting.  That's the first time I saw those red lights go up like that.  I wonder if it was added for this run.

I didn't notice that, but I DID notice a new "think music" arrangement that had some neat guitar licks in it. I know it wasn't the "middle 5" bed, so it was for the first or last (obviously).

Noticed the new think music with the guitar licks too......Thought it was really neat.

I wasn't watching with the sound full-blast, so I probably didn't hear the new first tier think music as it was supposed to be heard, but to me it sounded more like noise than music. I got annoyed at what sounded like a repetitive banging sound by the $4,000 question. Maybe it sounds better with the volume all the way up, but I prefer either of the other two first tier cues.

I liked that new spinning track shot at the opening, but I suspect that if they use it more than once per episode, it'll make me seasick.

Other than that, nice to see Super Millionaire back. There were some great questions in Sunday's episode (my only beef was with the "double a penny" question -- since you're given unlimited time to think about the answer, anybody could have made the milestone, assuming they reached that question in the first place).

It's also a standard piece of math trivia that you can go from a penny to a million bucks in a month.  That was a very poor question for $100,000.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

I'm surprised they didn't have 20 days as a trap answer - 20 days would be the time to go from 1 penny to 1,000,000 pennies (1,048,576 to be exact).

If you were doing the math in the hot seat you might lose track of the fact that you need 100,000,000 pennies (for a million dollars) and stop doubling when you only reached 1,000,000.

...and if you don't remember that, there's the checkerboard problem to fall back on (double the number of pennies on each square).  I knew right off that 27 was right simply because all the other answers were higher than 64.

It wasn't a million _pennies_ -- it was a million _dollars_...

Anyhoo, that was much ado about nothing.  Two contestants that fumbled their way into the third tier and both got far more than they had a right to.  Not good TV...  Ugh...

And I didn't get the call yesterday -- gosh, darn, rats and it all...

It wasn't awful, save for one or two really cake questions :) One thing I don't care much for is that the ten new contestants are mostly not introduced. I'm also surprised they didn't squeeze in another Fastest Finger at the tail end of the show, which they often did on the original primetime runs.

Considering the people in the ROF are there for only that one show, I'm glad they are not. If they do not have time to get a new player in the chair and play at least three questions of the new game, then they should hold off and start the new game with the people who selected THAT tape date.
