I watched the casting special of Next Action Star, and saw that one of the potential contestants was former Beat The Clock assistant Julienh Parker. She made it to the second round.

Which, of course, you haven't even seen before making that blanket statement.

If I'm going to criticize an unscripted show that's not in the dating genre ("The Swan"), I'll at least wait until I've attempted to watch it.

And let's not forget that the version of "BTC" that Julielindh did was not exactly a high moment in television game show history, even if it was clean because it was on Pax.  :)  Not Julielindh's fault, of course--she seems like a sweet kid and was happy to take the paycheck.

But Mark, you know if it's not a game show, it's crap.  At least that's what some people on this board want you to think.

As for Next Action Star, I've seen worse, specifically The Casino.  I wish I could ask for that hour of my life back.

  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

You think anything that doesn't come from 1987 is a pile of crap.  Please, crawl out of your time tunnel.

Meanwhile, Burnett says Fox made him take out all the good stuff from "The Casino"--but of course he and Fox are not on the best of terms right now, with their boxing show trying to undercut *his* boxing show.  Ain't television wonderful?

I wholeheartedly agree....that show was as 'real' as the woman at the blackjack table... (the only funny moment of the show!)

Currently, Fox's monday night lineup is really bad. North Shore is like the O.C. with worse acting. The Casino was like a really irritating hour of the old-school "Ocean's Eleven," Without the fun. (Seriously, the cheezy voice-overs and hopes of bringing back the "better" classic vegas almost made wonder if Sammy Davis Jr's ghost would come on screen saying, Ko-Ko-Ko-Kacho.)

I'm no big fan of reality TV, though I have been known to enjoy one or two seasons of Survivor, and indulge in the guilty pleasure of Blind Date.

However, the part that appals me a bit about this show is that GSN will be airing this show...Another step in the wrong direction, IMO.

Remember back when MTV was about MUSIC? Before it became The Reality Channel?

Some of these shows even borderline on GSN being the supposed Network for GAMES. A competition isn't necessarily a game.

I won't call it "crap" until I see it, but I know where it doesn't belong... :-\
