Randy West's sig says he'll be in San Diego with Todd Newton for their TPIR live show starting on 7/29. Randy, does you or anyone else know who will be hosting and announcing the shows of TPIR Live in AC starting on 7/12?

I does, Zach!

Todd and I were going to open AC and two weeks later open the SD show together. My committments in town ("Big Spin", etc.) made it impractical for me to join Todd for the rehearsals and first shows in AC. I'd be spending more hours on planes than on the stage.

Now the disclaimers: Subject to change, void where prohibited, batteries not included, and your actual mileage will vary... Todd will be hosting the first dozen or so shows in AC starting July 12th before jumping to SD for a few days of rehearsals before that show opens on July 29th. I'm told the AC announcer will be Daniel Rosen. I don't yet have solid information on who will be hosting in AC after Todd leaves.

More news when it breaks (crash)!

It's nice to see some of the folks who were passed over for the Big Announce Chair (including you, Mr. West) still staying in the fold doing these live stage shows.

My 9 months or so at "Price" was a fascinating experience that had an unexpected bonus in that it brought me way into the fold at Freemantle. I've known Gaby Johnson since the early 1980s, Syd Vinnedge since 1986, and have been acquaintances with Jeff Mirkin and others for almost as long. But the opportunities to work with Freemantle have been far more frequent since "Price". Similarly, I first met Andy Felsher years ago, but it was not until he saw me do warm-up and announce at "Price" that he asked me to be part of his TPiR-LIVE team.

And while on the subject, the challenges of handling the quantity of copy at TPiR, all live, synching with the on-stage reveals, and being prepared to respond to any curve ball ("Does that telephone have a cord?" and "Where is that group wearing the yellow shirts from, Randy?") kicked it all up a notch for me.

And finally, while before I worked the show, Rod gave me the gift of some very valuable advice and insight into the work during our last lengthy conversation. All combined, it has been the most significant chapter in my professional life. So thanks again, Roger.    ;-)

Randy,

Please keep us updated on when your AC announcing dates are confirmed (or at least looks like they won't change)

I'd hate to find out that we decided to go on a day where tickets are sold out.
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS
