Arlene got carrd and letters?

I missed the Monday 4:40 WML.  On the Tuesday show, Arlene Francis thanked the audience for the hundreds of cards and letters she had received since last week.  Does anyone know what transpired on yesterday's WML that got the public writing?

Could you be more specific about what era they're in right now?  I haven't been watching WML? overnight because I already have the episodes, so even though I didn't watch the night before, I might be able to give you an answer.

I believe this is regarding the incident where Arlene had a dumbbell holding up a window in her home and it fell, struck and killed a tourist. It was major news at the time. This was one of several tragedies to strike Arlene.
