Millionaire $0 questions?
« on: July 10, 2004, 05:26:54 PM »
Catching up on some Tivo'd Millionaires, I hit the Walk-In-And-Win show where a contestant got a question about the frequency of leap years wrong and consequently left with $0.  And that got me to wondering what other questions have resulted in contestants leaving with nothing.  Does anyone have a list?

Related: In Googling to try to find such a list, I couldn't even find any transcript web sites.  I know someone used to maintain such a site, with complete question transcripts of all Regis and Meredith shows.  But Google doesn't know about it.  Is it gone?  Anyone have an old URL, so I can query the Wayback Machine?

One question I can think of....

What sport does Lisa Leslie play?

Contestant used a couple of lifelines, and still got it wrong, saying volleyball.  The correct answer is (duh) basketball.

As far as the prime time shows, trying using Google Groups to search alt.tv.game-shows.  I'm sure all the "llamas" and their questions are chronicled there.  The syndicated shows were never recapped on ATGS.

That's the site I was thinking of, Tim.  Thanks for the link.  Sadly, the transcripts don't seem to use any consistent marker that I can search on ("llama", "$0", etc) to detect such questions.  I'd have to manually read through all the transcripts.

I'm curious, but not that curious.

I seem to remember someone on Meredith's show bombing out on a question regarding Frank Sinatra's "New York New York" song.

And please do correct me if I'm wrong, but I know there was a question about how much vowels cost on Wheel - didn't someone bomb on that too?

Ryan :)

Yep. She said vowels cost $100 instead of $250. And some argue, since the Bob Goen WoF gave away $100 vowels, that she should be brought back.

Yeah, that was a bit ambiguous I thought though the question itself might've been worded a bit more exact as far as the host goes.  Pat Sajak(& Chuck Woolery in the 1970's)=$250, Bob Goen=$100.

She was brought back during zero dollar winners week and won $250K IIRC.
