Another Highest Winner Question.
« on: July 17, 2004, 06:30:05 PM »
Hey there once again, I like knowing these things, so I'll ask this time about Sale of the Century.

Would anyone know the highest winning Contestant on Sale?  I'm not sure about this one, But on tape I have someone who wins a $90,000 Cash Jackpot, and about $166,000+ in cash and prizes, His name is Tim Hollerin. Would he be the highest winner?

I don't remember the woman's name, but, unless we're talking about "regular season", I remember there was a woman who won the "Champion of Champions" tournament, and another bevy of prizes and another $50K jackpot led me to think "Gee, with that bouquet of hers (she was given a bouquet under the jackpot sign after she won), she now has an even quarter of a million dollars..."  (I think her final total was $249,987 or somesuch...)

Guys, I believe Dustin is asking who the Hoghest Winner was : )

Anyway, non-tourney wise. Wasn't it Tom O'Brian with $150,000+ ?

Just out of curiosity, how many people won the cash jackpot and all the prizes on "Sale" anyway?

From earlier posts, these I know for sure:

--John Goss
--Alice Conkwright
--Tom O'Brian
--Tim Holleran

Any others?

Hope this helps.

From episodes I have in my collection+ what I've heard from reliable sources
The Lot was won by

John Goss
Alice Conkwright
Tim Hollerin
Lisa Munoz
Jeff Colbern
Tom O'Brien
Cindy Barr
Andy Ross (He may have jumped after the jackpot)
Barbara Philips

As to big winners who won the Jackpot and decided to walk before playing for the prizes , you can add Jackpot totals in parenthesis

David Rogers  (109K)
Bill Vasser  (70K)
Bill Fogel  (66K)
Ian Perrin (58K)
Susan Wolf  (61K)
Stephanie Holmqiust  (74K)
Judy Cahill  (total winnings 89K)
Stefan ?  (58K)
David Herelko  (82K)
Joe Lasher  (58K?)
Dave Goodman (Possibly)
Debra ?  (50K)

I remember asking if he won the additional $50,000 after clearing the lot a while back. He did win that, and his total winnings were over $120,000 in cash and prizes.

By the way, is Tim Hollerin the Tim who represented the U.S. in 1987's International Invitational Tourney? I just want to know for clarification purposes. Also, I am assuming one of us has some episodes of his championship run...

By the way, Tom O'Brien was the highest winner during the NBC run with over $152,000. However, I believe Jim treated the NBC run and the syndicated run as two separate entities, because John Gose was the biggest winner in non-tournament play, with over $156,000 in the syndie version.

I can always be wrong about any of this, so please feel free to correct me. Thanks!

(By the way, let us not forget Rani White, who was the only $ale contestant during the Winner's Big Money Game Era to win the $50,000 after successfully winning her eighth WBMG.)
