That stated, here's my guess on who might be the host of this year's pageant: Chris Harrison. Hey, he can handle TPiR Live, that three year stint next to Julie Krone, Todd Schrupp and Frank Lyons at TVG, and he's got the ABC connection with The Bachelor.
AND, on top of everything else, Randy's been in contact with him recently. ;)

I think you may have something here.

Some of the folks here would make great panelists for WML or IGAS. You nailed it pretty quickly. And no, the correct guess was not Patrick Wayne! Again, as the deal has not yet been signed, anything is still possible. But it seems to be pretty well set.

btw, I stand corrected. It was the new host who told me the old host was Goen. No slight to Tom Bergeron intended.

The new host will NOT sing the classic Miss America song. But strangely, *I* almost sang the song one year at the finals for Miss California for the national pageant! The pageant directors were at NBC on a "Weakest Link" tape date. I was introduced, and they were quite startled when, in a converstaion about Bert Parks, I told them I knew all the lyrics. They had me sing it to prove it, and freaked that I knew the song better than they did.

The California finals were just a few days away and they tried to find some budget and put the details together for me to do the song. But mostly because of the short lead time it never materialized.

Oh, there she is, M.A.
There she is, your ideal...
The dreams of a million girls who are more than pretty,
Can come true in Atlantic City...
For she may turn out to be, the queen of femininity.
Oh, there she is...
