Tony Barber Vs. Glenn Ridge

Hello people!

I have a question for those who has some semblance of knowledge about the Australian version of $ale of the Century.

Thanks to Mr. Raygor, I have acquired some episodes of the 2001 season of $ale with Glenn Ridge. While his hosting style seems to be on par, I wonder how he compares to the first host, Tony Barber.

Who do you think was better? Opinions are welcome!

(By the way, what happened to Tony Barber anyway?)

He later went on to host the Aussie version of J! in the mid-90s, and then replaced John Burgess as host of WoF in 96...unfortunately, the numerous rule changes that accompanied his arrival sent ratings plummeting, so he was replaced by Rob Elliott the following season (who's still hosting today), and most of the old rules were reinstated, which got the show back on track ratings-wise.

Do you suppose Tony could host a US revival of $ale of the Century one day? I think he could if Jim Perry didn't return.
