<<EDIT: STORY DELETED>>

There you have it? What are your thoughts? Personally, I think it would have been better to bring back the biggest winners, ala Jeopardy's TOC.

How many times do we have to say "don't quote stories in full" before people get it?

I thought this was okay, it was quite short.

You could have summarized it very easily, or quoted one or two lines -- especially since you did correctly cite your source, and anyone who wanted to read the whole thing could have found it easily.

As with the rumors and such, we're just trying to keep the board from becoming the target of legal action.

Ok, well getting back to the original topic, what Street Smarts is doing this season, is they are gonna invite back each person who wins a game, a chance to risk their earnings for a shot at $100,000 in a tourney at the end of the year. If a excessive number of people choose to risk their money for a $100,000 chance, then they will go by the highest scorers. That's it in a nutshell. Thoughts?

Since I don't watch the show on anything approaching a regular basis, can someone give me an idea what the average take for a winning contestant is?

$2,000-$3,000 sometimes a bit less.

top prize possible is $4,600 for a perfect game.

Oy... $100K for a show like "Street Smarts" is WAY TOO MUCH. If Frank Nicotero were to do a show that gave away this much, "$ale of the Century" would've been a better fit for him. Something like $5,000 or $10,000 would work better for this type of show.

I get the feeling that the producers of the show realize that this may be the end of Street Smarts, and if it is to be so, then they want the show to go out in a blaze of glory.

It's a once a season tournament.  I think $100,000 is a bit much for the tournament ($50,000 would be fine, IMHO).  Then again, I don't know the show's budget or how much income it has generated in previous seasons.

$5000 or $10,000 for this tournament?  And I thought GSN was going cheap by re-airing 5 year old reruns of Hollywood Showdown and The All New 3's a Crowd.  At least Randy gets more visibility and the all-important residuals from it. :-)

Thank you, Adam.

That said, Matt's right. Give up $2000 for a shot at $100K? Hells yes.

Give up $2000 for a shot at $50K? Maybe. And "maybe" is the answer you want here.

(Give up $2000 for a shot at $5K? $10K? Good lord. Read the thread before you post something like that.)

And from what I've seen, it's rare to even get $2,000.

I'd say $1,000-1,500 on average. With those stakes, $50,000 would be just fine.

And what gives you that impression? The ratings are just as mediocre as they always are, aren't they?
