What if "Supermarket Sweep" were on EWTN?
« on: August 27, 2004, 05:16:11 AM »
This is one of the photos from the 8/26 event called Albertson/Sav-On's Dash for Cash, in which four nuns got the opportunity to run through an Albertson's Supermarket and pick up as many items as they could for seven minutes. A local food bank received over $40,000 in groceries as a result.

This is going to bring back fond memories for one Invision denizen who shall remain nameless, and I can't wait to see what he would have come up with -- were he there, of course, calling the action.

Lesser punsters are also invited to participate.

You could have just edited your post, you know.

And please don't make another post apologizing for misspelling "capitalizing."

It would be totally awesome if Supermarket Sweep were on EWTN, we'll that is if it were taped at EWTN, I could go to a taping since the station/studios are 1 mile away from me.

Is it Ok for him to make another post to ADD the word
he missed between "don't" and "what?"  ;-p  How about
correcting his grammar between "post," and "but." Seems to
me, a SPACE is in order after the comma in the word "post."
Then again, it could just be that I need to get more sleep!

That's an interesting picture of the Nun in Albertson's. I can't
however, picture her running around in the market like they
used to do on SS when they played: "Supermarket Madness." I
mean, a NUN *stealing* groceries from another customer's cart?
I just can't picture it...

But it sure would make for some interesting announcing!

Sorry--I was distracted by Kaley Cuoco sticking out her tongue over on the side rail.  I guess you act that way after your dad dies and all you have is Peg Bundy for a mother.  :)

I'd make it a habit to watch.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

You can have her if you want, but I call dibs on Amy Davidson.  Rowr.

ObGS: AFAIK, Amy is (thankfully) not related to John Davidson.

Ya know, it's a shame we don't have a GS version of Photoshop Phriday around here. Not that I have any skillz in that arena, but it would be interesting to see someone superimpose a squirrel with a big-ol set of nutz over that picture. :)

First of all, did I miss something? The business about spelling capitalizing?

And I was thinking more in the line of the game call.

"And there goes Sister Sylvia of Team #2 over to the fresh fish freezers! Holy mackerel, she's taking only one fish! But it should go a long way. Don't forget to get some loaves to go with that. And put the fish on ice before it stinks to high heaven."

I guess Randy would have to make sure to use proper eNUNciation.

Would sound nice to me. The question is...

If it were used as a themed week, would this anger the anti-religious?

That sounds pretty convent-ional to me. (audience groans)
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."
