That's the whole idea behind a vamp. The length of a vamp has to be longer than the business it will cover. The MG '7x opening vamp runs about a minute yet the actual show opening was never that long. They would get out of the vamp well before it finished and you never heard the entire thing on the air. Same with FF and both versions of TPIR's opening vamp. The second TPIR vamp, the one used today, as well as the One Bid win cue, sound to me as if a generous amount of razor blade work was done on the original recording.
