Memorable GS Rivalries...

Thanks to The Inquizitive's Ones "Fun House" v. "Double Dare" thread, when TIO mentioned Marc Summers' on-air swipes at other game shows..

It was previously mentioned that Richard Dawson would make on-air remarks about other game shows on Family Feud.

Were there any other memorable/funny comments or obivous references about one show on another's show?  Or game show host vs. game show host sibling rivalres?

I remember Alex Trebek and his comments when WWTBAM was first on (saying that Jeopardy was a tougher show), and Regis' challenge for him to go on the show himself...

"Match Game" seemed to dislike virtually any other game show that used celebrity panels. Gene would periodically refer to "The Hollywood Squares" as "that other show," although I always took this to be a friendly rivalry. He REALLY didn't seem to like "Celebrity Sweepstakes" and when Celebrity _______ was the SuperMatch question, he became incredibly snide about it, even though it ended up matching for the $5,000.

And of course, we can't forget Bob Barker calling The Gong Show "Hell on Earth" when asked about it in an interview.

Said episode was Dawson's last CBS episode of MG7x IIRC.

Anybody who answers in form of a question on WBSM must wear a dunce cap. If that's not rivalry, I don't know what is.

Not to mention that Ben himself referred to J! on-air as an "archaic GS developed around the time of the sewing machine". :-)

How interesting seeing how Celebrity Sweepstakes had been off the air for a year and a half at that point.
