On Ebay...
« on: October 14, 2004, 05:06:39 PM »
While browsing Ebay, I came across this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5926871526&rd=1
Was the 2nd edition of the game a far deviation from the first? I see no mention of a record or anything in this copy.

A couple of other things worth mentioning:
--Password "premiere" press kit.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4043727355&rd=1

--"Dr. IQ" candy wrapper

Which has to be the only candy bar named after a game show.

(Mars put their product up front--the consolation prize was always "a box of Mars Bars and two tickets to next week's broadcast!"--if they were doing the show from the same city that week.  "Dr. IQ" was known for moving around the country in its radio incarnation.  Don't know if they'd let the person who came back the next week get a shot at answering a question again, although for a handful of silver dollars, there probably wasn't any hanky panky involved.)

(Fun Fact:  Among those assistants who uttered the immortal words "I have a lady in the balcony, Doctor!" was Ed Reimers, the long-time spokesman for Allstate Insurance, and some guy named Art Fleming.  He did some other show after that.  :))

Both editions of MB's Name That Tune play the same - each with a record. There seem to be a few more 40s and 50s pop tunes in the second edition - the first was pretty heavy with old folk tunes and classics. So if they don't mention the record in the contents....

Naw, I just call it by it's rightful name, the $100,000 bar. :)
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.

I'm just surprised a certain regular who's a fan of that guy who hosted WoF for 6 mos didn't jump in w/a GSC12 reference or one of its variants... :-)
