On November 16, 1999, Spin City had an episode where Paul Sand's character got on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" & won $1,000,000!  That was a ficitious win though.

Three days later, the wish finally came true when John Carpenter knew that Richard Nixon made a cameo on Laugh In & won $1,000,000!

THe anniversary of Carpenter's win was mentioned yesterday, O Season of the Witch.

Today is also the 5th anniversary of the airing of Barker's return to TPIR after his longest absence to date(surgery)

Also in the "Coincidence?  I think not." file, Whose Line is it Anyway? debuted its Millionaire Show game around then.
The countdown to 100 ended awhile ago, why are you still here?

The "Spin City" episode was of interest because it was the first time we saw what would happen if somebody actually won the million.  I believe it aired a few days before Carpenter's episode was taped (back then they were taped one day in advance), so it gave us a good look at the confetti, et al.
