Ranks? I can only think of Bob Hilton and Nick Clooney who went back to local TV news after game shows....that makes a total of.......four.

Who am I missing?

You ought to be ashamed of yourself for missing fellow weather guy Wayne Cox.  Tammy will be very upset with you. :-)

Yeah, I thought i wasn't seeing things! :)

You make some great added points though....Being a "Professional Game Show" host just ain't what it used to be....It coulda been again, but then someone at Game Show Network decided "GSN" would be better tv....sorry, but I just don't see myself hosting "Extreme Celebrity Croquet"....

But , then again ,who am I to pass up a national gig? :)

For now, being a "Professional Weatherman" is fine. The 401K helps.

You're Geoff Edwards/Jim Lange/Wink Martindale/Bob Eubanks and you have a Monday through Friday DJ shift on KMPC or KRLA. Along comes Chuck Barris/Dan Enright/Bob Stewart who offers you a game show which only requires you to show up at the studio every other weekend. The pay is $2,500 for five shows taped in a single day with catered lunches and a private dressing room to boot! That's $10,000 per month. Just learn the format and come in and read the questions off the cards. Who wouldn't accept such an offer?

Oh, and Botany 500 or Rick Pallack will provide you with some custom-tailored suits.

Not even with Game Show Network. Extreme Celebrity Croquet could have been over and done with in 26 weeks, then it's back to cold fronts.

As long as you're not working for Sinclair it has my approval.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Al Dubois and Robin Ward do weather in Canada as well after their game show careers?  Would you say guys like Robert Trout, Walter Cronkite or John Cameron Swayze were just slumming?
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

I wholly agree, but I may be biased, as I feel that Go was far and away one of the most underrated of Bob Stewart's game shows, and worthy of much more than the 13-weeks-and-out that it got.

I agree. For some reason, they actually had a decent set and decent music for this one, and while  the lame celebrities were there, they weren't so much the focus of the game.

There's also the innovative double bonus round, to solve the "how do we keep a lopsided game going 'til the end of the show" dilemna.

Terrific show.

Those lame celebrities also included a pre-Back to the Future Michael J. Fox, Jo Anne Worley, Vicki Lawerence, Kim Fields, and Didi Conn.  Speaking of lame celebs, I know I may be going off topic, but did it ever occur to any of you that there was somethin' they felt like they could not say and/or do in public, or did you know that already?

imdb.com tells me Robin did weather at CFTO in the late '80s. It said nothing about Al DuBois doing weather, but it did say that he plays a Pan Am exec in the new movie The Aviator.

And back to the subject of hosts "in the news," the father of 'em all, John Charles Daly left WML for a quick stint with Voice Of America.

Robin Ward was an actor who starred mainly in Canadian movies and TV shows (though I find it unusual for an unknown Canadian actor to host a US game show on US soil). As for Al Dubois -- he's currently a weatherman for the Canadian "Weather Network" cable channel.

Seems to happen more often than you may think. Alex Trebek was once unknown here.  Mike Darow and Al Hamel may also qualify.

OK, show of hands.  How many of you knew "K-O for G-O" hosted a disco show in Buffalo?

For those who didn't raise their hands, take a look...

...Kevin almost looks like he's doing a Dick Clark "so long" salute.

I see that Buffalo still conducts the "World's Largest Disco" annually, (per some recent game show episode).

Has K.O. ever had a hand in that annual event, or does he still do?
