Too Close for Comfort DVD party
« on: November 07, 2004, 12:28:21 PM »
Just saw on http://www.tvshowsondvd.com that the remaining cast of "Too Close for Comfort" (Love ya, Ted Knight!) is having a party November 8 in Los Angeles to celebrate the release of the first season on DVD. In addition to Davidson "Squares" regular JM J. Bullock, Deborah Van Valkenburgh (who appeared on the TCFC week of "Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour"), Lydia Cornell (also appeared on MG/HS and made several appearances on "Super Password"), and Nancy Dussault (many games, including the second week EVER of "Pyramid" in 1973) will also be there. Hope some of you can attend!

If they ever get around releasing "The Ted Knight Show," (AKA the final years of TCFC)  on DVD they could invite Pat Carroll.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

I had such a big crush on Lydia Cornell that it's not even funny. I wonder if she still looks as Hot today?

52. Yikes
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

I felt the same way about Deborah Van Valkenburgh - not to mention I was only 8 at the time (I found the show when ABC ran it in reruns in the summer of '83 in daytime).

Time has not treated her well...

Slightly on another topic but also the same, heard that TCFC DVD was only the syndicated episodes and not the network originals. Can anyone verify this?

Thanks.

Do you mean the syndicated prints vs. the network prints, or like you said, the syndicated episodes vs. the network episodes?

If you mean the syndicated EPISODES (post-1983), then no, it's the actual first season from 1980-1981 that aired originally on ABC. Checking tvtome.com's first season listing, and then the DVD contents, verify this.

It says on her bio that she is much in demand as an inspirational speaker.  Yes, that photo next to that paragraph is sure inspirational.  :)

Actually, in looking at her credits, it seems like she's been working hard to prove that she's not just another blonde--but doesn't have problems about still looking like a blonde bombshell (granted, with possible medical and cosmetic help).  Good for her.
