Yuletide music question

[quote name=\'aaron sica\' date=\'Nov 12 2004, 10:01 AM\']I remember being surprised with the showcase at that point as well, because instead of cutting away to commercial after the second showcase bid was made, Bob did the winner of the showcases right away.....Of course, that was in the interest of time because they had to do the home viewer winner.

Here's a trivia question for you...

Do you know why they eliminated the Home viewer showcase contest?
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

You know, I did read why once, and can't remember. But now you have me curious. :)

Was it something to do with more than one person who submitted the right bid, and it came down to a postcard draw, and they lost?

That's pretty much it. I understand 2 people had the exact same winning bid. The person who didn't win, tried or did sue, and that was the beginning of the end for the contest.

I don't recall if the person ever got anything out of it, but logic would suggest, they didn't as I would think they had a rule of a random draw in place if 2 exact bids did happen.

I'm guessing because the description of the prizes for the contest eats up too much show time and in this age of commercial clutter, the time cannot be spared.
