(And considering that Cooper was a game show geek, as reported by Rolling Stone in a cover story on him...)

That would explain his appearance as a celeb during the 2nd season of 2 Minute Drill.

I must admit I'm quite surprised by some of the similarities that have been mentioned.  I'm familiar with pretty well all of the songs people have brought up, and I didn't really notice the same similarities when listening to them myself.  I guess we all have different ears!

One more for the list: To all soap fans out there, did anyone else notice a vague similarity between the People On TV pilot theme and the last (Feb-Dec 1986) theme to Search For Tomorrow ("Somewhere In the Night")?

Anybody know the name of this cue?

Finally found the answer to this--it's called "World Champion" by Keith Mansfield.

I have this odd image of Doug digging for this information for three and a half years.

Whatever will you do with all your free time now?

I always thought the opening portion of Steely Dan's "Peg" sounded like the theme from Pitfall.

Not having paid much attention to this thread the first time around, I'll add my two cents... the opening of Mr. Mister's "Kyrie" (the instrumental portion, right after two or three stretched out wailings of "Kyrie... Elaison") bears a striking resemblance (in my mind, at least) to the sound of the PYL board.

The "Spin-Off" theme sounds a lot like the brief swirly intro to Frank DeVol's "Family Affair" theme.
