Chris, would Karn be good enough to host a Feud office run-thru back in the heyday of G-T?
If by chance he got to emcee an office run-thru, I can assure you it would be his last. I won't go into a litany of his shortcomings here and now, but he needs to stop SHOUTING.

Richard Dawson projected warmth on camera and was naturally witty. Ray Combs was goofy. Louie Anderson didn't bother me as much as Karn. For as much of Karn FF as I can stand to watch, I've never seen him bring anything which could remotely be described as "wit" to the proceedings.

At times, (especially the themed shows) Richard seems to be getting a little more personable- cracking jokes, smiling, and when he relaxes, he actually does a decent job.

Not saying I hate Richard...but I think that he could do better!

Not to take anything away from Randy's ability to get an audience pumped, but another major difference between studio Price and Harrah's Price is that an appreciable number of people seem to come into the Harrah's show after having had one or two adult beverages... and a small handful I've seen come in three or four sheets to the wind.

IIRC the August 16th Live show with Trachta and Rosen at Harrah's didn't have the bar in back of the audience, but the September 20th show John and I saw did.

Given enough liquor they'll start thinking Randy is Bob Barker.

Maybe that's why so many beautiful women approach me at the casinos. But probably not, as most of them have "One Right Price" in mind for playing "Bump". I always underbid   ;-)

Yes, beer and/or wine is available in some showrooms, including Atlantic City and Reno. No booze was sold in the San Diego showroom. And in Shreveport they make fun of people who drink wine; it's beer only, Bubba!

Again, TPiR is a huge draw, especially for the majority of fans in the world who will never see the show at TV City. I don't attribute the ticket sales or the audiences' excitement to the booze; but it does do wonders for us backstage!

For those inquiring minds, Todd Newton and Jeff Trachta are alternating the host duties.  I'm announcing all the dates in Shreveport, with the exception of quick roundtrips home for TV tapings. Scott Reside fills in for me on those days. Mention Invision for a backstage tour   ;-)

Now wait a minute Randy, I don't believe I wet my pants when I hit the putt for Las Vegas. Now, I almost assualted Mark L. with the putter, but that's another story all together. ;)
Depends!!

And congrats again. I forgot... what line did you putt from, and was it "Hole in One" or "Hole in Two"?

'Twas a Hole in one, thanks to getting 4 items right. (Damn that medicated shampoo!) Good thing I had played a round of golf 48 hours earlier. (No kidding!)

To those who e-mailed about plans to visit beautiful downtown Shreveport to hear Splendido, Dig We Must and TPiR's other "greatest hits" loud and in the clear, as well as take a backstage spin of the big wheel during the holiday season, here's a scheduling update. TPiR-Live will be dark for several days just before Christmas.

Jeff Trachta is wrapping his run this Sunday. Todd Newton then returns for two weeks that will take us through Sunday 12/19. The show will be dark through the 24th and will resume with 2 shows daily starting on Christmas Day. With the exception of a few brief weekend flings to L.A. for other committments, I look forward to welcoming more visitors from our Invision family. Just e-mail first.

If time permits, I can also tour you through what must be the pride of Louisiana, the largest Target store I've ever seen; it even has a supermarket section!

Happy Hollandaise   ;-)

Don't they have Target Greatland's in LA? If you're ever through Seattle, look me up, I will show you the great monument to retail largesse that is Fred Meyer. :)

Not that big a deal--Super Targets are all over the place (Target Greatlands don't have supermarket departments).  They even have a TV spot with a plane filled with almost every great food product icon you can think of (Tony the Tiger, Snap, Crackle and Pop, Mr. Peanut, the talking M&Ms, the Jolly Green Giant, etc., etc.) all coming to a Super Target.

Yeah, I'm wondering how the Jolly Green Giant could fit in an airplane.

Randy,

Are you giving us a hint that you're looking for a few of us to play a pick-up game or two of Supermarket Sweep  ;-)

Up here in the Cleveland area, we have a 2-story Target complete with special "cart escalators" in between the regular ones to take your goods with you.

Randy (or anyone else, for that matter),

How long is the TPiR Live show in Shreveport? I don't see an end date listed anywhere.  There's a strong possibility I could be near Shreveport in January for a wedding, so hey...why not see the show again? ;)

Also, is the show planning on coming back east (Atlantic City) again in the future?

Thanks!
Dave

Dave (and anyone else for that matter),

TPiR-Live will be at Harrah's Louisiana Downs Casino and Racetrack at least through January 30th. Often our runs are extended, but I have no word yet if that will be the case in Shreveport. Bring the newlyweds to the show!

We ARE expecting to return to Atlantic City in the spring for at least a couple of months. This time at the Harrah's Hotel and Casino, as opposed to the Harrah's owned Showboat Hotel and Casino on the other end of the strip where we played recently.

Harrah's recently purchased the Caesar's properties, so there are dozens and dozens of possible venues. With the construction of a second set in early 2004 we've already played in two locations simultaneously. TPiR-Live is rumored to be headed West from Louisiana for the next stop. I'll post updates when the bookings are announced.
