Actually, Randy, it's not off-topic at all. In fact, it's driving the discussion back on topic. Unless OT up there means "on-topic", in which case never mind. Now where's my secretary with the new batch of egg nog?
Speaking of Barker, as I've not seen it elsewhere on the board: Beating the yearend deadline by a couple of weeks Barker has announced his intention to continue on TPiR for a 34th season.
CBS.com had the taping dates for all of 2005 up for a few months. (Strange because they normally don't post them that far in advance)

So that kind of gave it away.

Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Speaking of Mr. Clark, I haven't seen this mentioned, but I'm sure we all
wish him the best and hope for a speedy, safe, and complete recovery.

It wasn't mentioned here, because some of us wished him a speedy recovery when news of his stroke was disclosed (as of 4:26PM CST on 12/22/04, you gotta go back about eight pages to read it).

Of course, silly old me wasn't one of those to extend those well-wishes, so I'll join you in those sentiments.

Not sure how, Chris.  The 2005 tape dates are part of the 33rd Season.  Bob has to make a commitment for another contract before the end of each calendar year.  That contract takes him through a Season, not a year.  His most recent signing puts him through June 2006.  A great thing for fans everywhere!

(If he signed January-December, he could technically leave the show in mid-Season.)

And yes, best wishes to Mr. Clark.

Dick Clark in the ICU? That doesn't sound good.

Picture this.

Somebody goes to CBS.com to check out when TPIR is taping and they see taping dates for December 2005. Is it logical to assume that those shows would be part of Season 34?

Not really, each year the Season Premiere episode is clearly noted on the CBS.com tape date list.

EDIT:  I do see what you are talking about on the tickets page about the tape dates.  I was referring to the tape/airdate schedule that doesnt get updated until just weeks before the shows are set to tape.

Either way, Bob signed just last week, so CBS.com posting those dates is still irrelivant.

There's no law saying that Sue Mac can't hash out a production schedule before Barker renews.

It will be the first in many years to not be in Phil's handwriting.

I took a page of last year's schedule to a graphologist. I remember him saying that the subject was "Bright, creative; aloof, butt friendly"!

The press reports I've seen say that he is out of the ICU, but is still hospitalized at the undisclosed location, so there is more than a glimmer of hope.
