What runs of Match Game are currently on GSN?
« on: December 23, 2004, 03:04:01 AM »
I was wondering what runs of Match Game are currently airing on GSN's 4 airings.  GSN airs MG at 11am, 3:30pm, 2am, and 2:30am.  Could anyone here please try to fill me in here?

...or fill in the BLANK, whichever term you perfer to use!  ;-)

The 3:30 airing should be MG76, and I think they might be late 1976. I know one of the 2 or 2:30 am airings is from daily syndie MG, but I'm not sure what year.

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

They are definitely in December 1976 (3:30 PM EST airing), so we should be seeing a New Year's Eve episode  within the next couple of weeks.

Great.  The one that didn't run in full when shown on the 30th anniversary blank-a-thon.

Why was that again--too much commercial load?

Which is the best of the six sign-changing episodes. The '75 to '76 switchover ranks second on my list. All my lists can be purchased on eBay. It's the perfect gift for you or someone you love.

My fave is the '74 to '75 sign change, with the '73 to 74 switch coming in second.

Great. The one that didn't run in full when shown on the 30th anniversary blank-a-thon.

Why was that again--too much commercial load?

It also didn't run in full the last time they aired a "Match Game" New Year's marathon on New Year's Eve.  Things like that always ruin it for me.  I only kept the '73, '74 and '75 eps from that marathon and recorded the others in full when they came around in the regular rotation.  It was kind of frustrating waiting that long, but it's better than having the best part of the episode cut off!

You're right on that one, chief.  Don't know if anyone saw this earlier, but the '76 to '77 changeover aired today, and it aired intact (discounting the shrunken screen as soon as Rayburn said "Goodbye").

Happy Gnu Year!  :)

Don't forget about Match Game '73 currently showing weekends at 3:00 P.M. Speaking of which, I have a question to ask. Are they showing the eps in order? Before the holidays, the last panel was: Pat Harrington, BS, CNR, JoAnn Pflug, RD, BW. The current panel for 1/9, 1/10 is: Bert Convy, BS, Jack Carter, Fannie Flagg (1st appearance), RD, Ann Elder.

I just need to know if this order is correct or if GSN skipped a week.

I'm still waiting to see whatever's left of the "Mama" Cass Elliott week.

Of all the celebs I've seen on Match Game '73 so far, my favorite was the late Morey Amsterdam--very funny! Too bad only 2 eps remain of the Lucie Arnaz week.

Did they stop showing MG73 during the week?

They did. Not sure of the date when this happened but "Lingo" has been showing at 3pm now on the weekdays...
