Anybody Ever See This One?
« on: December 10, 2004, 04:45:30 PM »
Thumbing through an old LA Times TV supplement of 9/27/70, I found a listing for a game show on KNBC called "Helpmates." at 6pm Sunday.  No host listed, but the panelists on this particular show were Gary Collins and Mary Ann Mobley, Mike Minor and Linda Kaye Henning, and Lois Nettleton and Marty Ingels.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Some helpful information I received about Helpmates, from my ever-reliable source:

Quote
Helpmates was a local game show seen on KNBC for only a few weeks.  It was one of a bunch of game shows that they tried out on Sunday evening in the 6pm hour.  Another was called "Two in a Row".  Someplace at home I have the information on broadcast dates and hosts.  I think I even have a ticket to Two in a Row, which was taped in NBC Studio 5 (that was their local studio) and is now the news studio for Telemundo.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

A two-by-two version of tic-tac-toe.  I can see what that didn't work.  ;-)

But just think of how many games you could fit into the half-hour!

And none of those pesky tied games, either.
