These are people that, even with something in their lifestyle related to the question, didn't get it right. I have two for examples:

1) On Weakest Link, a contestant is from Canada (must've moved to the US at some point), was asked the question "Saskatoon and Calgary are cities in what North American country?", and she replied "North Dakota."

2) On The Price is Right, a contestant named Barbara only got one item right playing "It's in the Bag." As if that wasn't enough, she was a grocery checker! (Bob: "I talked to the manager. She is now a FORMER grocery checker."

When Michael Boatman ("Spin City") played Celebrity Jeopardy in NYC, he got some New York-related question...I want to say it was actually in regards to "Spin City," but my memory is hazy. Anyway, one of his opponents rang in with the right response. The audience's reaction was priceless.

I think there was a guy on Greed who worked in a casino, but didn't know what a croupier was.

There was a guy on Greed who was a bartender, and thought Chivis Regal was bourbon.

A contestant on WWTBAM who was studying to become a doctor didn't know what "B.I.D." meant. ("Bis in di" = "twice daily")

I'm surprised Chuck didn't give any sort of noticable tell when he said that. If I were him, I would've been cringing to beat hell.

I should think it would be a testament to his professionalism that he did not. Think about it. If he so much as flinches, and C&P notice, there's hell to pay.

Here's one for the record books.

Back on an old episode of Celebrity Jeopardy!, Reggie White answered a question about the Bible wrong. Now, if you know the backstory behind the recently deceased former NFL defensive lineman, he was an ordained minister. The question had something to do with Cain and Abel (don't remember exactly what it was), and you'd think a minister would know about the Bible, right? Not on this day.

I was on a radio personality theme episode of the syndie "Weakest Link" a few years ago. One of the other guys on the team, who was also the GM at his station (Sun Valley, Idaho if I recall), whiffed on a question about the service used to measure radio audiences.

The answer was Arbitron. After wasting about 10 seconds, he came up with "The Apple Report" ?!?!?

Don't think I have to tell you who didn't make it past that round!

I suspect there were medicine items in the game, it's a tad more excusable then.

In 2002, there was a diatribe in ATGS about an MIT graduate getting the Ace in Hit Me, then NOT picking the only product on the board with a price ending in zero to slam dunk the game.

Last time I checked, Zachary, most grocery stores have an HBC section.

On one of the Pitfall eps floating around, champion Dan's a hockey player/fan...during a Pitfall Round, he gets the question "If you were awarded the James Norris Trophy, in what sport would you be competing?" He answers "Football," but immediately realizes his mistake...the correct answer is his sport, hockey.

Alex commented on the screw-up later, jokingly saying of Dan, "He's obviously trying to protect his amateur standing."

Similarly, on another ep, the woman who defeated Dan (Rosemary, as anyone who's attended a GSC where I was present can tell you...LOL) was faced w/this stumper: "In a famous battle, Wolf defeated Montcalm on the plains of Abraham in what country?" She passes...the correct answer? Canada...this is funnier if you realize Pitfall was taped in Vancouver. :-)
