  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

Hot Streak wasn't Kline & Friends, it was a Reg Grundy Production (the only non NBC game).

Unfortunately, KTRK didn't carry the show due to Donahue.  But I did get to catch an episode when catching the ABC Lufkin station by chance.

Then I finally got to see a somewhat clear show through a trade tape from Senor Jon Wood who had his game show webpage.

Small Talk was Grundy and on the Family CHannel. The syndicated $otC didn't air on NBC O&O's in a lot of cities.

OK, I just gotta ask: Why, Zach, why? Even when you're trying to be funny, why?

Those are neat clips. I find it interesting that of all of the US gameshows to make it over in Germany, a 13-week-and-out special is one of their longest running hits.

(I wonder if it would have made it longer if they had stuck an established host in there instead of Forsyth. Not that Forsyth wasn't entertaining, or experienced (in England, anyhow), but nobody knew him from Adam here.)

Given ABC's track record for new game shows premiering in daytime after Feud, I doubt it would have made a difference. Hot Streak was up against WOF and TPIR's first half to begin with.

I definitely see your point, and this might be a topic in itself, but are there hosts that people would turn the channel to watch? Groucho Marx. Maybe Dawson. Maybe Barker, now that archeologists are paying attention.

Or was Forsythe so unusual that even, say, a neutral kind of guy like Jim Perry could have helped?

That was a fun show to watch. Everyone was there to have a good time and it showed. That clip on the Xanfan site with Bruce dancing around with the ladies and "flashing" himself is a riot.

There is a new videoclip auf a german "hot streak"-final-game online. The contestants won 6 times and played for 100.000 DM :
