.....the second coming of Card Sharks hit the air. This time, with a new host, and a new network- but mostly the same rules.
That's right, Card Sharks with Bob Eubanks premiered on January 6, 1986 on CBS, at 10:30 AM, effectively bumping a perennial favorite, Press Your Luck, to 4 PM.
The rules were mostly the same as the previous version on NBC, except:
The second column on the Money Cards, you were given $400, as opposed to just $200, an 'educated guess' question, like, "What's the fastest pitch ever recorded in baseball?" Also, there was a question every now and then in the game that had 10 people that were members of a group, or had a paticular occupation.
Somewhere down the road- a Car game was added. There were 7 cards, one of them had "CAR" on it. The player was given a Joker, which he/she put on the card which thought had the car. The player could get three more Jokers, as there were three others dealt in the Money Cards.
Sometime later, the car game was completely overhauled. Now, the contestant had to guess how a group of 10 people in the audience would respond to a question. Getting the number right on the nose won the car, missing by 1 would net $500.
This version would last 3 years, until March 31, 1989. A syndicated version with Bill Rafferty would last a year, from 1986-87.
