A person by the name of Bente Christensen.  I don't recall any other sets she's done.

Edit: Ty GSman, had not known it was a female :)

That's Bente Christensen Hart now, and she's a woman.  She designed the sets for Password Plus, Mindreaders, Las Vegas Gambit, Rodeo Drive, The Challengers, and Scattergories, and currently serves as art director for a certain long-running game show hosted by Bob Barker.  (Okay, Password Plus and TPIR I knew off hand, but the other I had to look up.)

Bente Christensen Dukes. I do remember her walking onto the set of "Sale Of The Century" just before going on maternity leave.

Man, I'd love to see a clip of that.

She also did Feud 94 & Card Sharks 01 which were probably better left unsaid, although I liked the Feud 94 set.

Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Which also means she partially designed the Whammy! set, since several elements from CS '01's set were recycled for W!.

I think she also did NBC's Hollywood Squares, IIRC.  Seeing how she did all those NBC shows, I wonder if she was contracted by NBC to do other shows other than game shows.

Which NBC Squares set are you referring to? The MGHS set, or the 1979-81 Marshall era set I presume.

the Peter Marshall version.  BTW, who did the set to the MG/HS hour and what kinda system did they use for the giant matrix board?

iMDB credits her for Marshall HS [but we know they're not completely reliable]---I would probably guess she may have done the '79 set.

Dennis Roof, IIRC. And I believe I remember seeing Bente's name for HSq in the EOTVGS. If I did, it didn't mention which version.

Yes. Bente freshened the original E. Jay Krause design in the '79-80 season.

She also designed the original set for FAM's 96-97 series Wait 'til You Have Kids.

Since Mindreaders was mentioned....what did the set look like? I can't seem to find any pictures out there, although with the things I've heard of the show itself, I probably don't WANT to find any pictures...(LOL).

I believe that Bente was on staff at NBC in the late 70s and early 80s, when the networks still had staff set designers.

The original set designer credit on the 80s "$OTC" was to her and one Arnold Becker, who I guess was the designer of the Australian version set, of which I would assume the original U.S. set was a close copy.
