When Anne says "You leave wtih nothing", do they indeed leave with nothing or are they given some consolation prizes?

Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

ZIP, ZILCH, NADA.
But the show did pay for travel expenses, and the ride back to the Sheraton was in a shuttle van that was washed the day before   ;-)

Brings up an interesting thought: Does a family on Family Feud or a contestant on Syndie Millionaire who wins nothing get anything? Syndie Millionaire stopped paying travel expenses in the second season.

On (US) "Weakest Link," was there any provision for a team banking no money during the game?

Yes. They were ridiculed severely by the host, and the contestant coordinators were summarily fired.

He might have been kidding, but Randy said a while back that the producers were starting to get worried during a syndie show where the team had banked $0 in the first two rounds. So perhaps not.

(This post seems rather devoid of actual information. Sorry.)

The opportunity to take a couple of cookies from the contestant kitchen, and the hope that there'll be another $0 winners' special.

The worry after the first two rounds of $0 was that we were producing the world's dullest game show episode. There was provision for everything on that show. I never saw a more complete bible.

Don't they also get the novelty check that Meredith holds up?

Note that the novelty checks only come out when the players hit plateaus (and I'm not even sure about the $1,000 one), and for each question after the second one. There is no novelty check for llamas.

They will gladly give the fake $1,000,000 check to anyone who asks. Regrettably, I didn't think to do so. They do have 11 fake checks ready per contestant, so they're prepared with one for any win of at least four figures.
