Wow, I never expected those weird synthesizer parts in the Race Game cue. And you simply cannot beat that intro....Great stuff! :-)

There are, what he meant was that this is the cue from the 1983 package that is sometimes used in these games.

[quote name=\'Casey Buck\' date=\'Jan 26 2005, 06:03 PM\']EDIT: Make that two new cues: the real version of the TPiR theme, not the short one on the GSN CD. It's in MP4 format, so you might need QuickTime for it. I'll try making it an MP3.

Not to worry.  I took care of that for you, and I put it on my cue page

I enjoyed that Race game cue a lot more than I thought I would. Especially the ending.

Many thanks again for your contributions.

Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Also, for take two, well the last time i watched it, it used another cue from the 1983 package, which was used during the 80s on clock game, which if memory serves me correctly was also used, or a form of the cue was used, for the opening to The Phone Home Game

[quote name=\'ChuckNet\' date=\'Jan 22 2005, 12:33 AM\']Indeed...I recall one ep where those season tix were offered in RG; the contestant was a youth counselor, and said he could use them w/his "kids".

BTW, they also offered the season tickets in 2 of TPiR's other 4-prize games, Danger Price and Take Two...dunno if Poker Game ever offered them.

Was there ever a time when all four had prices of under $1000?  I don't think Poker Game could offer them.

The one thing I don't miss about not having the four sets of season tickets on any more; Bob's attempt to give the player a clue - "think about how long each team's season is".  The problem is, the Kings tickets were either $1400 or $700 depending on whether the owners decided to offer up good seats or cheap ones.   (The clue worked for the Rams/Raiders tickets, which were always the cheapest (by far), but after that, it was a tossup.)

I'm surprised they don't do it now, but with Clippers, Angels, Mighty Ducks, and Sparks (WNBA) tickets.

I'll post some non-TPiR related goodies later.

That MGHS Variation was used on Flamingo Fortune, during the big wheel spins.

Speaking of MGHS variants, is it just me, or does the part of the '94 car cue between about 1:09 and 1:36 sound like a variation of the MGHS theme?

Oh, and thanks to Casey for those cues.  I had been especially eager to hear a clean, non-MIDI version of Cue 19.

For anyone interested, here is my "edited for TV version". It's working, too.

Good edit.

Just to keep things technical, if you listen closely to the beginning of the cue, there is a chime in the background that is not used on the air version.  The air version is cue "200A," you actually have 200B V3?.  Close enough for the cue fans, I'm sure.

Thanks for the clarification John.  I thought that sounded a bit awkward there with the flutes at the :10-:15 mark.  That makes the 200A version one of my favoritte cues out there.

Thanks a bunch Casey!

There's no reason Poker Game couldn't or still can't use a prize with four digits in the price if they want to. As long as a price has at least one repeating digit, it's still a viable prize for Poker Game.

I'm not surprised they don't do it now. With the influx of out-of-towner contestants permeating TPIR in the modern era, season tickets to LA sports teams' home games is not as viable of a prize as it once was. They seem to be replacing the occasional Dodger season tickets Showcase prize with a trip to Dodger fantasy Baseball camp in Vero Beach, Florida.

Even if no one does, what we've gotten so far is enough to make anyone go Bonkers when they hear these cues. :-)
