I dunno if it's aired or not...or if anybody cares if I "spoil" it or not, but I'll make an educated guess and say Chris Wylde performed and lost. He fits the first two criteria Steve mentioned up there. FWIW, and in case you didn't know, he hosted "The Chris Wylde Show" on Comedy Central and his game show experience if you wanna call it that was "Taboo" for what was then the "new TNN" cable channel.

Honestly, for as goll-darn annoying as he was in just about every other aspect of his career (one of those awful sorts that believes laughing at his own schtick makes it funnier), I though he was fairly competent as the Taboo host, especially since it required some quick thinking sometimes.

And yes, a quick search confirms that "Christopher Noll" is Chris Wylde's given name.  Wow, from pretty visible -- if annoying -- TV personality to American Idol reject in a few short years.  How the puny have fallen.

My fault. My comment was intended to make fun of his length of time as host, not quality of his run. He was a decent host - playing a mini Dick Clark/Allen Ludden advising players to have clues ready and that. And he did manage to tone down his very irritating act which you so eloquently explained in brief.

I figured Noll was his given name rather than an alias, but I was too lazy to do the legwork. At least one other part of Michigan is feeling up for it tonight. :)

I THOUGHT he looked familiar.  I could not put my finger on it but there was something about that guy!

I saw that and his given name and remembered it from the credits of his talk show (which is pretty damn scary).

While it is hardly unusual for performers to adopt a different name for their "professional" pursuits, I suspect that Mr. Wylde decided to do so for another reason as well in hopes of avoiding potentially major embarrassment from some good old-fashioned mistaken identity fun.  Roughly 20-25 years ago, one of the top names in the adult entertainment industry, more specifically in the gay male porn arena, was a performer by the name of "Chris Noll".  While obviously the same person as TV's Mr. Wylde, you can bet that some sloppy media outlet would manage to try to "make the connection" otherwise.

Hmmmmm...actually, which would really be more embarrassing?  To be known as a gay porn star or Chris Wylde?  Wow...I bet gay porn has never looked so good before now...heheheheh

Hasn't stopped Randy West... or you, for that matter. ;)

Is it safe to assume that there's not a porn star named Split Second?

If anyone cares, Chris Wylde was also a recurring player on the "new" (crappy) AMC's original series "FilmFakers," in which he and a few other out-of-work comedians pose as the crew of a (fake) low-budget movie and cast unsuspecting young actors to be in it.  Hilarity ensues.

Off-topic, but not off-topic: Since we brought up mistaken identities, Jason the A recently e-mailed me saying that the Mike Burger that posts here is not that Mike Burger, contrary to the links page on my website.  Which Jason is right?

Back on topic, I did not recognize Chris Wylde last night, as I have never seen Taboo.  Does this make me one of the smarter posters on this forum? :-)

You are wrong.  Our Mike Burger is THIS Mike Burger.  Game show fans ought to recognize two or three other names on that page as well.  You'll also notice the page is a little out of date.

You do, however, earn bonus points for having no idea who Chris Wylde is.
