My question is were the fonts used in the CBS version the same font as the ABC Version (for those who have seen it) and what font were they? Also, What techinque was used for putting the words on the screen (chromakey,Chryon (sp.)? and is it a practice still used today?

Password in the 1960's and 1970's used a font called Cartoon to render their flip cards with the words on them. The cards were hand-stenciled until the 1966-1967 season when they were typeset in the graphics shop, and they used the Cartoon word cards up until \"Password All-Stars\", when they went electronic. The Cartoon font ended its association in the 1975 version as those cards were used in the Big Money Lightning Round.

The font itself has been kicking around for many years...in fact, the book jacket of the original first edition of John Steinbeck's \"Of Mice and Men\" used it.
