This is probably a really dumb question for the people here, but what were the 90s Pyramid pilots that I hear so often with the word "suck" next to it?  I could have sworn there were webpages for it before, but I can't seem to find them.

There WERE webpages, but they were on Randy Amasia's old site.
There are three things I've learned never to discuss with people: Religion, politics, and the proper wrapping of microphone cables.

Didn't Chuck Woolery host one of those pilots?

Yes, and Mark Walberg hosted the other.

I still think "This could grow on me/Like a mole...?" is one of the best comments I ever heard.

Straight from the horse's mouth, courtesy of your friends at Google:

Pyramid 96 pilot

And from other ATGSers:

Osmond Pyramid pilots

Speaking of 90's Pyramid pilots.  Was there a pilot done in 1990 for the John Davidson revival?  I figured something must have been done with John hosting the game before it was sold into syndication.

Didn't USA Today report Willard Scott did a pilot(or at least was under consideration) for what would become the 1991-92 version?

Thanks for all of the information for those of us who were not on these boards in the Nineties.

I'm not sure how I would have liked the '96 pilot.

The '00 pilot sounds like the version that sold (although there was never a million dollar tounament).

When did the Chuck Woolery version come, and was it closer to the all-star show or the faithful remake?

November 1997 IIRC (although he was already doing the Dating Game). Might've been 1999, after DG was cancelled. As far as I know, it was more faithful to the original, except no tournament.

And finally were any of these versions made for NBC as I believe the 'Game Show 75' site mentions?

The pilot for WOolery Pyramid was done in Fall 1997, as per a check of ATGS on Google.

And a further ATGS search says November 16, 1997.
