Exen if a couple picks a $700+ box, there's also the possibility that they pick a box that has a prize worth only about $150 or so which can throw the whole round in jeopardy.  Of course, if they traded in a very expensive prize in exchange for a box whose prize is only about 2/3 that traded prize's value or even half, that's treading water right there since there's usually one item among the original 6 that's very valuable that it's tempting to keep but more often than not is usually traded in for a prize that may not help out getting the $2500 needed for the trip.

Name me one time in the $2500 era of STYD where a traded box prize was less than $200.

I'm positive that during the last weeks of the old format, where 24 Karats was upstairs, that they had a pocketwatch worth $150.
