I certainly hope I'm not putting my foot in my mouth resulting from my own failing reading comprehension skills but it seems to me that the "Perf" has done it yet again...
One of the lead stories on TVgameshows.net is about this past Friday's episode in which the all-time one round winnings record was broken. The new record was set with a $54,000 win on the final puzzle. My confusion lies in Beverly's claim that the winner broke a record of nearly 20 years. However, just a couple of sentences later, he states the previous record of $45,000 was set in the fall of 1994. So, if the previous record was set in late 1994 and it is just now early 2005, wouldn't that mean that Friday's winner broke a record of 10-11 years, not nearly 20? Hell, it isn't any big deal either way but that's a bit of a calculation gap, wouldn't you say? Did I miss something somewhere that will explain this and make me out to be my typically foolish self?
Hmmmmmmmm...
