Deal or No Deal slots now out

While visiting the Mohegan Sun today, I spotted it...this is the first time an Australian GS has been adopted for the US gaming market (and w/ABC shelving the TV version that was supposed to premiere last yr, it's prolly as close as we'll get...LOL).

Anyway, like most video slots, you get to play a game based on the show by getting 3 "Cash Box Bonus" symbols on a payline...you're shown 8 briefcases, which can contain as little as 25 and as much as 1000 credits...after picking your BC, you're then asked to gradually reveal those you didn't choose, w/offers to give back your BC for a "sure thing" throughout.

It can be quite fun, especially when it's down to the 1000 BC and a much lower amount...one woman in that situation passed up a deal of 500+ credits to quit, only to wind up w/a measly 25 credits...check it out, next time you're at a casino!

I think this is prolly the first slot machine ever based on a game show that's never aired in the U.S...interesting.

Hmmmmm....here's the thing that bugs me about video games in Casinos...Now, I know that things are always on the up-and-up, but can a game be 'adjusted' to make the big payout fall in line with the actual odds of a big payout being made? I'm not suggesting it's rigged, but especialy with a game where you make decisions on taking a bail out......could something happen? just wonderin'

And Chuck, how much was the game ? nickel, quarter, $500 a credit?

Absolutely, any slot machine can be adjusted to be "tighter" or "looser" with payouts, but usually there is some kind of regulation with the gambling board of the state of residence for the machine that dictates that setting be within certain parameters. It's why they always talk about the slots in downtown Vegas being a far better deal than anything on the Strip.

Oddly enough, my wife and I were crusing U.S. 30 East out of Canton today, and wound up at Mountaineer in Chester, WV en route to Pittsburgh...

...and did not see it.

However, the casino (which is IIRC run & operated by the West Virginia Lottery) was hyping the arrival of "Wheel of Fortune" slots -- the actual 1st generation reel slots that have been out for *HOW* many years now?   Oh yeah, this *is* West Virginia we're talking here -- where it takes locals a lot longer to get a grasp on things (except marriage), so I guess a 5 or 6 year delay is normal there.

Unfortunately, "Wheel" and a handful of "Munsters" reel slots were the only TV or movie slots seen in the entire casino.   I hope PA can do a lot better when they start opening their casinos in the next year!

They've got nickel slots at the Sun now?! I need to make an excursion one of these weekends... :-)
