Bad game shows do you like

I truly enjoyed Povich's Twenty-One. My one problem was it's ridiculous money ladder. Would work better as a small money game show. I never had a real problem with TTD '90. The host was lousy, but the game itself seemed to work. Only bad thing was resetting the pot at zero after a tie game. Trivia Trap was a pretty cool show, but those sweaters were corny. The pilot they were all in ties and stuff. TJW '90 though, that was lousy. The set and slot machine was cool, but as for it's execution, I was in favor of that.

To me, the 2000 version of Twenty-One was OK but there were definitely some holes in it.  The money scale was way overblown early on before it was cut, the timeslots were not what NBC had hoped, & Polvich really wasn't all that great a host.  Yet, I kinda liked it.  If only they kept the lowered  money ammounts, the "good" timeslot & more emphasis on the game itself, I'd think it just might stuck around a bit longer than it did.

I liked Clash, Smush, and Cram quite a bit.  No idea why all of these bad-GS favorites had monosyllabic names.

Seconding Marble Machine-- not a good show, but certainly a memorable one.

Smush was a great concept (as you would expect from Jellyvision), but the whole let's-have-a-game-show-at-a-party! gimmick fell flat with me. Give me podiums and lights and scoreboards. Even Sports On Tap came close enough there.

I liked TJW '90.   It was the first, and only Jokers Wild that I have ever seen. (except for 1 episode in the Feast of Favorites of 2003)   Then again I was a lot younger and perhaps more easily amused than I would be right now.

What about "The Chair" and "The Chamber", two early 2002 shows that prove that distracting contestants ala Fear Factor to win money can really be, uh...shocking?

Winning Lines (I feel bad for that one female contestant almost winning the million)
Peer Pressure (which I thought was cheaply produced)
It's Your Chance of a Lifetime (how many here thought Jim Lange would host that version?)
Big Deal (LMAD with a Fox attitude)
Dog Eat Dog (it was good for only one reason: Brooke Burns)
Stump the Schwab
ESPN Trivial Pursuit
And of course...the aforementioned Joker's Wild '90 and Tic Tac Dough '90 (the latter if it wasn't for Patrick Wayne)

I agree. Smush had a terrific idea, but they needed to make it into a better game. Even without Ken Ober and the "party guests" I think it would have been too basic. Boy, that score lady was a looker, though.

I'd love to see Shafted. Friend or Foe took a good concept, but the question round was too dull. Maybe if they asked the questions from Smush.

Hmm, I quite like Friend or Foe. It's a bit disinginuous to suggest that it came from Shafted, it's merely a show that utilized a basic tenet of game theory. Before Shafted, there was a UK show called Trust Me that played with the same prisoner's dilemma concept.

As a Brit, I thought your GSN originals are pretty neat although a know quite a few of them get a lot of stick around here (especially Cram, which is completely undeserved). And having been able to compare old and newer versions of Wheel, I know which ones I prefer watching (and I'm willing to bet they're not the same ones you all prefer).

Trust Me interests me a great deal. It's the purest form of the Prisoner's Dilemna, and I like that it's one quiz show that doesn't have trivia, just armchair psychology. I thought it could be a cool prime time game. So how was it? It didn't fare well, I take it. What was the problem?

Oh no, people who watched it tended to like it. But I think it was designed as an experimental show, to go out late at night on a minority channel, so they weren't expecting many viewers (and probably weren't expecting to get a second series either).
