16 years ago today, $ale of the Century and Super Password left the NBC airwaves.

First, $ale of the Century ended with a $6,000 win at the last Winner's Big Money Game.  Plus one of the best endings, after the final commerical break, Jim Perry said that on the next show, the Jackpot will be worth nothing! (With the dollar signs pulled out) his wife June on stage, a final balloon drop and a long credit roll with a fade to black at the end of the credits along with "$ale of the Century:The End".
$ale of the Century reran on USA from September 21, 1992 to June 24, 1994, unsure of the time

Then on the final Super Password,  Betty White broke the Magic Toaster once and for all  (The final Ca$hword was shrewd).  First she tore up the check and ripped open the Magic Toaster and Bert told her to throw it across the stage instead, but the first throw wasn't hard enough, so Bert had her throw it a second time and this is it shattered.  Two Super Password rounds were played the day,  the first one wasn't successful and to put a happy ending to the Super Password era, $10,000 was won.  At the end, Bert Convy became emotional and acknowleged the staff, George Choderker, the producer described as "the best", Dayton Anderson, who Bert described who "put these things on me" and "The best" also,  Tommy, the board operator, Rich Jeffries, the audience cordinator, the producers Bobby, Diane and Joe, and Gene Wood,  Bert said "What can I say, Gene?  He said he was "the best" and he loved him.  Then Bert and Betty reminsed Allen Ludden, and said that this was the fifth last Password that she's done.

The final words uttered before the credits rolled were:
Betty White: The phoenix shall rise again, and just get out the way, we'll back in a minute.
Bert Convy: Gene Wood we want to support you too.

The show reran on Game Show Network from December 1, 1994 to October 10, 1997, unsure of the time.  It reran for a second time from April 1, 1999 to September 24, 1999 at 1:30 AM ET.  It rose again from May 28, 2001 to April 12, 2002 at 7:30 PM ET and briefly from September 2, 2002 to September 27, 2002 at 10:30 AM ET and Mark your calenders, Super Password will rerun at 2:00 pm beginning April 4, 2005 so get your VCR ready!

Actually, that bit came before the 3rd break, after the Instant Cash.

I have a feeling you must be from the West Coast. NBC didn't air the final $otc in its entirety in the East.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Betty had forgotten that was not on the last episode of Password Plus, it was Audrey Landers and Tom POston on that finale.

There'll be a Saturday Night Classics quintet of shows of SP this Saturday between 9PM-12Midnight EST.

It aired at 2PM when it debuted on 9/14/92. It had moved to 1:30PM IIRC on 3/28/93 when they added TJW90 and TTD90 to the mix, and had stayed there for most of the rest of its USA run. It ended its stint on USA at 3:30PM for its final few weeks in Summer 1994. It aired on USA for about five or six more weeks after the date Dave15292 mentions.

I thought it was on at 3:30 for some time, and I was pretty sure it was toward the end of it's USA run. Glad I'm not as senile as I thought. :-)

Oh, you had to remind me about that, didn't you?
There was a happy ending 15 1/2 years later when a saint from Chicago sent me the studio master of that final show.

The final $OTC also proved to be the final television appearance of Jim Perry, who quietly began his retirement (at the age of 51), but not before wrapping up his long run as host of "Definition" in Canada a year or so later.

Jim did make a few brief appearances here and there (including one on Mark DeCarlo's "Studs"), but that's about it.

Good for Jim... I'd say get out early while you can, and he did.

Well, hosting appearance anyway.  There was the little matter of that Bob Berkowitz interview on CNBC a couple of years later, the exact details of which escape me (someone want to fill in the blanks--put your hand down, Zachary--fine by me).

He went on CNBC to talk about his divorce, and IIRC, he mentioned an attempted suicide. Thankfully, he and his wife reconciled a few years later. I also remember him doing an infomercial a few years back, and I was amazed at how little he had aged over the years. The only difference being that he had a blondish tint to his hair, but he looked like he was a day removed from hosting $ale.

Actually, they ended about the same time.  "Definition" went off CTV in Sept 1989, but the last original episode aired in March of that year.
