TPIR MDS Specials Announced

Just saw this CBS press release and didn't see it mentioned  here. Here's an excerpt and a link to the rest:

"THE PRICE IS RIGHT MILLION DOLLAR SPECTACULAR, hosted by Emmy Award winner Bob Barker, returns to prime time with three new episodes celebrating the game show's 33 year history on CBS, the first two to be broadcast Saturday, April 9 (8:00–9:00 PM, ET/PT) and Saturday, April 16 (8:00–9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The third special's airdate will be announced at a later date."

Of course it's great news and I can't wait to see.  :)

But, again, why air it on a Saturday?  I wonder.

Better than a rerun of "Cold Case" or "CSI."  Yeah, Saturday's the dumping ground, but it's better than nothing.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 3rd special aired on May 20th as the leadin to the Daytime Emmys (CBS is hosting them this year).

At least we know where The Golden Road has gone. The past couple months have been on a serious budget in part because of these shows.

And yes, Primetime has a separate budget.  CBS actually "purchases" show by show.

As usual, I'm sure the new MDS will be awesome. And with the added rehearsal and pre-tape time, as usual, I'm sure they will be long tape days!

There are "new" TPiR clips in the "Game Show Moments" specials for VH-1.
Five 1-hour specials, taping Saturday, 3/26; Air TBD.

We can ALL drink in AC anyway!

Off topic, and I know it's a long shot but might as well ask...I've been keeping track of the site logs and I noticed that there's one IP address from FremantleMedia N.A. that was doing a Google search for pictures from the Price LIVE! Atlantic City show last year.
