Ironically that was six days after the worst day in American history occured.
OK, I'll bite. What was March 25, 1989?
The date Geoff Edwards filed his first restraining order against this character.

I think that this person is giving too much credence to 9/11 being the cause for Card Plankton (I don't want to call it Guppies, because I don't want to infringe) being cancelled. Now, maybe I'm misinterpreting his motives here, but CP would have died the death it did (now, was it 13 weeks? I seem to remember it going into reruns about January '02 in NYC) regardless of whether or not the terror attacks occured. Maybe the show was pre-empted in markets for the first few days due to the wall to wall news coverage a lot of local stations had in the days and weeks ahead...but I can be damn sure that the people who would have watched the show anyway would have been turned off, as the rest of the nation was.

Now, I may have completely gone off topic here, and if you guys feel like this needs to be killfiled, by all means do so. But that's my story.
I suppose you can still learn stuff on TLC, though it would be more in the Goofus & Gallant sense, that is (don't do what these parents did)"- Travis Eberle, 2012

She merely said that it was ironic that the show debuted so soon after the tragedy.  You can argue with her use of "ironic" if you want, but don't put any more words in her mouth.  She said nothing about 9/11 being the cause of the show's demise.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

The first and only time I saw the show was on October 10 (my birthday...I took a day off from work for it). I watched the whole show, but thought it sucked. I completely agree with you. CS's demise wasn't 9/11, but rather CS itself.

It's not irony, it's coincidence!  I can't believe you haven't figured out the difference by now!

I had a question about that: Who passed away during the run? Because Bob mentions that person but I forget who at the end of the show.

He'd also mentioned contestant coordinator Carole's death at the end of one episode after she died in April 1987.
