[quote name=\'zachhoran\' date=\'May 5 2005, 09:30 AM\']I'd thought WLOD and LMAD also stopped airing on GSN because the contractual rights lapsed, and they were not renewed.

Why? Because GSN stopped airing them after a schedule change? HS is obvious: It's been commented on ad nauseum that the ratings have never been there for the show, and the ratings in the then-key demo of 18-49 (Prior to GSN's target shift in daytime to 25-54 specifically, with renewed focus on Overall viewers), were absolutely horrible.
As for LMAD: Nothing more than a casualty of GSN trying to salvage airplayson a bad investment in Star Search - GSN wanted to milk as many airplays as possible out of a show they paid for that fit in with their programming directive at the time, but wanted it out of the way, so they put it in the most remote slot possible outside of B&WO territory - 9 AM. LMAD just happened to be there at the time. Besides, the 70s episodes had been run through several times by then, and a lot of the '84 shows had seen 2 airings, with most of the 1985s getting at least 1.
And I'd imagine that, after two years in the same hour period (7-8), airing the same 150 episodes, that WLOD's ratings were starting to get a bit dry - not to mention that putting a traditional game in that timeframe would go COMPLETELY against GSN's programming drive at the time. As for a morning slot: It just didn't happen.
Sometimes shows just leave the schedule. No contract expiry involed - they just disappear.
