What the hell was this?
« on: May 11, 2005, 02:09:58 AM »
I think there is a slim to none chance of anyone knowing this. Perhaps this will be a good challenge for anyone up to the task.

 Time frame: Early 1990's.
Channel: WNAC Providence, RI. (possibly syndicated to other stations as well)
 Airtime:   Late Sunday Nights
Taping Location: Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut
 Show Format: Game Show
Hosts: One woman (can't recall name) with a bandleader Cohost named Dr. John.
Don't remember much about Game play.

What the hell was this??? A bad dream or something more? If anyone can tell me more about this short lived game show, then I would say that you deserve the honor of being named  "KING GAME SHOW FOR A DAY!"

 Who's up to the challenge?

167 page views and nobody has a clue. It appears that I have stumped the Band! Where's my prize? lol

I do remember the woman host having an accent, she had blond hair and I believe the title of the show didn't even sound like a Game show. I think the show was named after her!

Comon people, Isn't this program in some sort of Game Show Book? You are disappointing me here. Don't let me down. ;-)

I'll bet this was just a local show that only WNAC aired.
There are three things I've learned never to discuss with people: Religion, politics, and the proper wrapping of microphone cables.

I care because I was the one stuck in that dress :)

and then bla bla bla bla and that's how I got the nickname Saussage.

Can you say the story again? NO! :)

"The Tracey Ullman Show."?  I know she's a brunette, but sometimes she would wear a wig.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

<Insert Harp Flashback Music here and and begin echoing voice as if one is talking to ones self>

Hmmm...99.9% of the people on this forum *don't* live in Rhode Island....
...and chances are they have never heard or seen this locally made show...

Perhaps maybe, just maybe, if I make a phone call or write to WNAC and describe everything that was mentioned in the original post to them that there is a very good chance (Over 75%) that someone at the station knows, or can find out, what that show was...

Hmmm...What to do, what to do???....

<Insert a little more HFM here>

Dizzy, were you actually going to SHARE what the show was ever, and if not, can I move on to the next thread?

Do you think this is a riddle??? If I could remember what the show was, then I would never have posted this thread!

And the world would have been a much better place for it.

Here's a thought: If yer gonna ask a question, JUST ASK THE STINKIN' QUESTION. If someone knows the answer, they will answer it. There are plenty of budding Zach Horans around here who are more than happy to show off their knowledge.

Trying to goad your audience into doing your research for you with crap like "who's up to the challenge?" isn't going to do anything more for you but get you dismissed as an idiot.

If you feel like you need to "enhance" your post to get people to pay attention to it, perhaps you should ask yourself WHY.

I apologize if my post was to advanced for you Chris. Enhanced with what???? As I remembered more and more details about the show I happened to post some additions.

He meant to enhance it by challenging us to figure out the show.  Because the way you said it made it seem like you didn't know, and wanted us to guess.  If that's NOT what you meant, take a writing class.

Oh boy, was I that unclear? You are right. I DIDN'T KNOW and I thought that someone here could help out. It seemed pretty clear to me when  I wrote it. Maybe I should be the one to go back to sleep. Goodnight everyone ;-)
