For those who are interested, Alex 'Many Moon Come' Trebek will be stopping by the Regis & Kelly show on Monday 5/23, more than likely to promote the home stretch of the J! Tournament for those who have been under a rock for the last 2 months.

And for those on the left coast, it would be worth your while to record the interview...Lw/R&K played a "clip" of what may very well be the actual opening of tonight's episode -- definitely a keeper!

And don't get caught with your pants down, you may want to tape tonight's show just in case the clip is really part of the show!

And to avoid any possible spit-takes, refrain from drinking liquids during the first 3 minutes of tonites show, just in case.

While that was a funny clip, I'll be very disappointed if they actually open the show with it.  They spent the better part of three months building up toward this Big Important Event, and to start it off with a cheap joke would seem to be a bit of an insult to those of us who've been taking it seriously.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.

Agreed.  However, the reason why I think the clip might be used on tonight's show is because they inserted the "Courtesy of King World" credit at the beginning of the clip and the fact that they didn't mention it as an outtake when describing the clip.

Usually when I have seen 'outtakes' or the 'fake clips' on shows like Live and Letterman they never put a Courtesy Credit on the screen, they may just give a thank you nod to the production company in the closing credits if that.

Well, whatever they showed, it wasn't there.

So , for those of us who missed Live, what happened?

Alex enters without wearing pants.   As I said, funny enough to show Regis, but not something to air at the start of your Big Event.

Alex said that he & the contestants were chatting before the taping. and mentioned how tense they were feeling going into the finals.  Someone (I forget which contestant) said that maybe they shouldn't wear pants and sort of laughed it off.

So the music is playing at the top of the show, Johnny introduces Alex at the beginning of the clip, and Alex walks out without any "trousers".  Ken and his challengers lose it, Alex says that everyone was supposed to do this, and he has the mobile cameraman take a shot of the 3 of them behind the podium -- all fully clothed.

At least they got their icebreaker wish.
