Price is Right recently plugged their home game on the air...sort of. A group of home board games was one of the prizes for Money Game during a show that aired last week sometime. Rich made specific mention of the Price is Right game. I'd call that a plug.

The TPiR game has also popped up in several showcases, one of which was a collection of game show home games from Endless.

Okay, and I'm sorry I haven't responded earlier!

Under the new format, instead of scoring points for locating the correct hidden answers, a prize was credited to the player when correct. The first player to be credited with seven prizes, won the game, kept the prizes, and played the bonus round (as described earlier, the Eye Guess Risk Board).

In the new bonus round, seven of the eight numbered spots on the board concealed a card with the word "GO" on them, and one said "STOP." If all seven "GO" cards were located before hitting the "STOP," card, the winner received a new car!

The acquaintance I heard about the box game being updated described it as containing prize racks similar to the ones used in Concentration games, and a new box cover showed Bill Cullen (w/straight hair, instead of crewcut), holding a slightly redesigned game board.

Whether or not it existed, I don't know, but I highly doubt it. The bonus round would've been easily updated, though if such a game existed.

Thanks for correcting me there. I always confuse the name of the games they play on Price is Right. You'd think since I've watched the show as a little kid that I'd remember a thing or two. :-)

Donny Osmond gave Endless's Pyramid game as a consolation prize to home viewers in that phone game they had going during the 2nd season...I think that counts as a plug, also.

Wasn't "Big Numbers: the High Rollers" game plugged on the NBC (Trebek) version of the show?

Also, the Dealer's Choice home game was plugged under two different names: "Dealer's Choice" and "Place Your Bets" (as "Dealer's Choice" was the name of a Parker Brothers game involving buying cars)

Speaking of plugging things, how many shows had those special pendants made for them as consolation prizes? I remember Hollywood Squares, High Rollers, and The Magnificent Marble Machine had them, and I'm pretty sure at least one other NBC show did.

US "Sale" did back in its first year for those in the tourney of champs - when it more closely resembled the lavishly lavish show produced in Australia.

Wasn't just TOC participants who got this, I remember this was the standard consolation prize for regular players in the early days of the show.

The Perry era $otC home game didn't get released until Summer 1986, so the NBC run was more than half over before the game was released. It was plugged by Jim Perry at the halfway point of most episodes of the NBC run back then, and was seen in a commercial found on at least two other game shows, PYL and TPIR.
