Lingo's new co-host is 2004 Miss USA winner Shandi Finnessey, and it's very obvious that Chuck is returning.  And, as rumored before, the trip was dropped in favor of $10,000 for having the first ball a Lingo.  Full story at Buzzer! in the link in my sig.

"Chuck Woolery will be returning, but for certain reasons Stacey will not". What could they possibly be? And in what order?
Stacey is quoted in an article in an eye candy magazine that she received letters from people thanking her for teaching them English. What words would those be, Stacey baby? FASTER? SLOWER? Oh, wait. Those are words of more than five letters and according to the former judge of Lingo, each is therefore "not a word".

Look, it's not her fault that her job was what it was. She was just the person hired to fill it. It was a no-brainer job and she did the only thing she was really hired to do well: look good in tight fitting clothes.

I don't think the trip in the "tickle chair" on Howard Stern did her a world of good in the eyes of GSN, though. But that's just idle speculation on my part. I'm sure there were just as many execs at the channel who loved it.

Sound they made in front of reporters: "Oh, no, that's awful, we can't possibly be having our stars doing disgusting things like that."

Sound they made in their office once everyone left: "fap fap fap fap fap"

This is true. She gets an A+ on that. Perhaps she'll follow the trend set by Tiffany Bolton and avail herself for "after dark" features.

Cool.

If we could post pictures here, I'd show you the sign near my house that identifies Florissant, MO, as "Home of Miss USA 2004 Shandi Finnessey."  Now I just have to talk the city council into covering up "Miss USA 2004" with "Lingo co-host."

I still don't see the point of having an "assistant" for Chuck; as many have stated about Stacey's role on the show, it's pretty much filler and eye candy.  It just doesn't seem to have a place on what GSN is trying to pass off as a bona fide game show.  My favorite season of Lingo was always the second season, where Chuck was getting the hang of the game and he could just run with whatever he wanted to.  He couldn't really do that with Stacey; he certainly had his moments, yes, in the third season, but I thought they were hindered somewhat by the fact that he tried so hard to include Stacey in his proceedings.

I do, however, like the fact that they're switching to just $10,000 as the "first pull" jackpot, since there were so few times that the trip was won anyway.  That just seemed to be a waste since, usually, the only time the plug for the vacation destination was really prominent was if the team did win the trip; otherwise, it was just a part of the closing credits (which very few saw, most likely, since, by then, many, like myself, had already changed the channel).

Anyway, that's just my few pennies...:)

I really don't care that much about whether or not Chuck has a human body of some form at his arm.  Sure, Chuck had less to do with Stacey sharing the stage, but it was nice seeing the host-cohost "relationship" return to the genre once again.

On another note, I hope they decide not to mess with the neon set and the perky theme music.

My sentiments exactly. The show works with or without her, but I think there's more flair with a model...and speaking of the new model...Yowza!

What's wrong with a show without flair? If there's too much flair, it can be take away from the game, in my opinion. I think Lingo works better without a model, but that's just me. I also agree with whoever said the second season was the best one. I quit watching when they added Stacey and I will not watch this season, either.

So Stacey single-handedly ruined your enjoyment of the show? Wow, I find that incredible. I mean why would it bother you so much?

She serves the same purpose as Icey did on "Cram": to bring in the young male demo and the creepy old guy demo. With the new season order, it looks like mission accomplished. That she was sent out to pasture only means to me that GSN sees her as interchangeable and expendable.

They're almost certainly right.

Still, I hope you enjoy your not watching Lingo. I'll enjoy actually watching it.

The addition of a co-host did in fact ruin the show for me; I just think she was... there too much. But to be fair, it's not like I watched every day. I know why they added the co-host, because some guys my age might tune in just because there's this chick there. But then again, I'm not like most guys my age (as I sit here listening to Def Leppard).

I guess what bothered me is that they feel that they need to add a model to draw an audience. It was fine before, in my opinion. If they think the show can't stand by itsself, then maybe it shouldn't even be on the air.

Knock yourself out. In all sincerety, I hope you really like it. You're probably right, though, I know I'm a bit stubborn (a BIT??). I should give the new season a chance, shouldn't I? There are definitely worse things on the air, that's for sure!
